“This is a battle between sane and crazy”: Sen. Ted Cruz brings his Keep Texas, Texas Tour to Waco

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – After the last day of the Democratic National Convention, Senator Ted Cruz kicked off a press tour, visiting cities across Texas to connect with voters as he seeks re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Central Texans in Waco on Friday welcomed the Lone Star State’s junior senator as he spoke with voters about supporting him and presidential candidate Donald Trump in the next election.

“This is no longer a battle between republican and democrat between conservative and liberal, this is a battle between sane and crazy,” Cruz said when discussing the policies of the Biden/Harris administration.

Cruz focused on the topic of illegal immigration and spoke about reducing human and drug trafficking. He claimed the Biden administration has set back his own work in trying to secure the U.S. border with Mexico.

“I worked hand and hand with President Trump to secure the border. We achieved incredible success, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris deliberately broke the border, and we went literally within weeks, from the lowest rate in 45 years to the worst rate of illegal immigration ever recorded,” Cruz claimed.

Cruz further expressed his discontent with Vice President Kamala Harris as he urged voters to be aware of issues that could change the way Texans live every day.

“This election is about something very simple, it’s about keeping Texas, Texas,” Cruz said.
