A fifth person involved in a vehicle crash in Wise County last week has died, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced.

Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 287 in Alvord, the driver of a van carrying 14 people veered into a median, overcorrected and lost control, DPS said. The van rolled multiple times, ejecting several passengers.

The driver and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Eleven people were take by helicopter and ambulance to area hospitals, DPS said. A fourth person died at the hospital.

On Saturday, DPS announced a fifth person, 35-year-old Junior Louis, died of his injuries on Friday.

The driver who died was identified as Diony Antoine, 46. The other deceased were identified as JN Irard Vixamar, 42, Ledene Pierre-Louis, 36, and Geneve Louis, 28. A DPS spokesperson said investigators believe the van was traveling from Florida and heading to New Mexico, and all of the van’s occupants were residents of Florida.

Only one occupant was wearing a seat belt, and the DPS spokesman said that person was able to walk away from the crash and was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.
