Legendary NFL Coach Calls Foul on Kamala for Her ‘Faith-Based’ Support of Abortion

Tony Dungy is a rarity in modern-day professional sports because he refuses to bend the knee to the woke mob. As RedState has reported over the years, Hall of Famer and Super Bowl winner Dungy is a deeply religious man and a consistent voice for life, having previously called out politicians for claiming to be people of faith while also advocating for the destruction of life through abortion.

Dungy’s most recent target was none other than Kamala Harris, who took to X on Thursday to proclaim:

One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: The government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.

One has also never accused Kamala of being a practitioner of the truth, but it takes a special kind of immoral duplicity to claim that followers of Christ can also advocate for the destruction of life.

Tony Dungy was having none of it, challenging the presidential wannabe about what kind of faith she’s talking about:

Are you talking about the Christian faith that says all babies are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), that God places them in the womb (Jer 1:5) and that we should not take any life unjustly (Luke 18:20)?  Are you talking about that faith or some nebulous, general “faith” that says we’re good enough, and smart enough to make our own decisions?  What “faith” are you talking about?

She will never respond to this question, of course. She’s incapable of responding to any questions, and she certainly wouldn’t be able to summon a defense for trying to conflate faith with murder.

Kamala’s tweet was almost certainly in reference to the sad case of Amber Thurman, a young mother who died as the result of a botched abortion. Thurman was given two abortion pills; one was administered at the abortion facility and the other was taken at home. The abortion facility offered Thurman no monitoring or follow-up care, so she sought treatment at a hospital when things went catastrophically wrong in the days following her abortion attempt. Thurman died on the operating table while getting a D&C.

As RedState concluded earlier this week:

The left is trying desperately to spin the story as the first abortion-related death following the reversal of Roe v. Wade. They are lying, of course. Abortionists set the sad chain of events in motion, and inadequate health care failed to fix the destruction brought on by the abortion pills in time to save Thurman.

Democrats like Kamala Harris are shamelessly using this tragedy as campaign fodder. They don’t care about Amber Thurman, they don’t care about her young son who is now growing up without a mother and they don’t care about the next woman who will lose her life because she thinks the abortion industry will take care of her.

They certainly don’t care about the facts surrounding Thurman’s death, but another NFL great and staunch pro-lifer, Benjamin Watson, set them straight:

It does not criminalize doing a D&C, especially when there is no detectable fetal heart rate. Amber should be alive, and @vp should focus her attention on these facts so we can prevent the next tragedy rather than promoting politically motivated falsehoods.

He’s exactly right. It is sad that Amber Thurman thought her best option was to terminate her pregnancy and even sadder that the world of “reproductive health” failed her. And it’s somehow the fault of the pro-life community?

One X user nailed it:

Pro lifers: Abortion pills are dangerous, and shouldn’t be administered without close physician supervision.

Abortion lobby: No, these pills are as safe as Tylenol and we can send them to women in the mail.

*woman dies from taking abortion pill*

“It’s pro lifers’ fault!”

This isn’t the end of the discussion, however, as Kamala Harris is headed to Georgia on Friday, with Amber Thurman’s death sure to be exploited to maximum political effect. Luckily, pro-lifers have Tony Dungy and Benjamin Watson on their side, and both are willing to counter the lies of the abortion lobby.
