The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has reportedly delayed the release of President Joe Biden’s vice presidential records until November 6, 2024. That’s the day after the general election.

The content of the information to be released includes “Vice President Biden’s communications with Hunter Biden and James Biden.”
The Biden Vice Presidential records to be open include email messages with James Biden dated February 26, 2009, through April 1, 2016, Lion Hall dated 2009-2016, and Rosemont Seneca dated in the year 2016. Some of the topics include: the first official meeting of the White House Task Force of the Middle Class in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in February 2009, an invitation from Paul Laudicina to his book launch event, forwarding of photographs from a White House visit of Vice President Biden with James Biden and a forwarded media request from Turner Sports, preparation of Vice President and Biden’s (sic) final tax forms and financial disclosures for the year 2015, scheduling of West Wing tours, scheduling a secure international video call between Vice President Biden and Dr. Biden, and scheduling a photoshoot for Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden for their 2016 interview with Popular Mechanics.

The timing of the delay is, to put it bluntly, unfortunate – and possibly deliberate. This is, however, in stark contrast to Judge Tanya Chutkan’s ordering the release of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s motion to make immunity determinations in the D.C. criminal case against former President Donald Trump – a month before the general election, as my colleague Susie Moore has documented:

However, unfortunate as this may be, it’s unlikely to affect the presidential election, for these reasons:
- Joe Biden is not the Democratic candidate, having been deposed and replaced by the Democratic Party’s anointment of Kamala Harris.
- Neither Kamala Harris nor Tim Walz were working directly with Joe Biden during the latter’s term as vice president, nor is there any indication that either was involved with any of the various Biden family shenanigans.
- Neither Kamala Harris nor Tim Walz had any significant contact with Hunter or James Biden during this time.
- Finally: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have enough issues and weaknesses to sink them already without any Biden family connections.

Even so, the timing of this looks bad.
Throughout this entire cycle, from Joe Biden’s inauguration to date, there appear to have been two separate standards applied by the NARA, by investigators, and by the legacy media; anything favorable to Biden or damaging to Trump is released and promoted, while anything damaging to Biden (and now, Harris) or favorable to Trump is delayed or hidden away. Government is supposed to be transparent and accountable; for the last four years, it has been neither.
It’s unclear as to whether one four-year term by any elected official can clean this mess up, but the one thing we can be certain of is this: If Kamala Harris is elected, no one will even try.
