DALLAS — Officials with Dallas Fire-Rescue, the Dallas Police Department and the Game Warden’s Office have terminated the search for a child who never resurfaced from a creek Saturday afternoon.
According to police, DFR responded to a water rescue near 2779 Mountain Creek Parkway at around 1:37 p.m.
Police said the child was reportedly swept under while fishing in a creek in the area and his father jumped in to rescue him but was also swept under. Neither of them resurfaced, police said.
According to police, the three agencies worked together and found the father dead around 5 p.m.
Police said the man’s body was given to the Medical Examiner which will confirm the identity and cause of death.
The search for the child was halted due to light conditions, but it will resume Sunday morning with Dallas PD’s Dive Team, police said.
