TAYLOR, Texas — A boil water notice has been issued for parts of the city of Taylor following a water main break on Monday.

The city said the water main break on Fourth Street, which has now been repaired, caused a significant pressure drop.

Customers in the affected area are asked to boil their water prior to consumption until further notice. This includes water for washing hands and faces, brushing teeth and drinking.

Water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be boiled and cooled before use. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

Residents may also purchase bottled water or get water from some other suitable source of drinking water.

Anyone with any questions is asked to contact Water Superintendent Sam Thomas at 512-352-3251. The affected area includes all water customers along the highlighted area of the following map.
