GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — One lucky Tarrant County resident is about $5 million richer after they claimed a top prize in a Texas Lottery scratch ticket game.
Texas Lottery announced on Oct. 14 that a Grand Prairie resident claimed a $400 Million Mega Bucks ticket worth $5 million.
The winner, who is choosing to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket at Chilly Mart, located at 3705 S. Carrier Parkway.
The scratch-off ticket is a $100 game with prizes starting at $150.
According to the Texas Lottery, this was the first of four top prizes worth $5 million to be claimed in this game. $400 Million Mega Bucks offers more than $419.3 million in total prizes, and the overall odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.84.
Texas does not have a state tax on lottery winnings.
