Longview eye doctor arrested for online solicitation of a minor

Dr. August Wallace, 51, of Longview, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 10, by the Longview Police Department.

LONGVIEW, Texas — Arrest documents say a Longview optometrist sent multiple sexually explicit photos to a teenage girl online.

According to Gregg County judicial records, Dr. August Wallace, 51, of Longview, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 10, by the Longview Police Department. He was booked into the Gregg County Jail where he remains on $150,000 bond.

The arrest affidavit states Wallace began communicating with the girl, who lives in New Jersey, when she was 15 years old in fall 2023. Through social media apps, he sent her explicit images and videos and he asked her to send inappropriate photos to him. An investigation began when the victim’s father reported called police in New Jersey.

Police used social media and the package Wallace sent the girl to identify Wallace as the suspect.

In June this year, a detective posed as the child and for three months, he continued to send inappropriate images and videos who he believed to be the girl.

Online records show Wallace works for MyEyeDr., located at 3032 N. Eastman Rd. Ste. 100, in Longview.
