‘Freedom is worth defending’ | Texas Senator Ted Cruz rallies in Central Texas

Over 500 people showed up at The Barn in Lorena to see the Senator.

LORENA, Texas — More than 500 Central Texans gathered in Lorena to hear from Senator Ted Cruz in Lorena.

He stopped in the city on his tour bus where he’s visiting several Texas cities to speak to voters ahead of the Nov. 5 election. Senator Cruz emphasized fighting for farmers, seniors, energy workers, law enforcement and small businesses. He says he wants to keep Texas a beacon of freedom.

“I don’t think this is any longer a battle between Republican and Democrat. This is not a battle between conservative and liberal. This is a battle between sane and crazy,” Cruz said.

Cruz says his three priorities are freedom, security and jobs.

“I’ve spent 12 years fighting for jobs in Texas, fighting for lower taxes. Working with Donald Trump, we passed the biggest tax cut in a generation, and it produced the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years,” Cruz said.

The Senator is hoping to rally support for his re-election race against Congressman Colin Allred.

“I’m here today to tell you freedom is worth defending. Women are worth defending. Our Children are worth defending. The constitution is worth defending. The bill of rights is worth defending. Texas is worth defending and America is worth defending,” Cruz ended with.

Early voting starts on Monday, Oct. 21 and goes for two weeks until election day. More information can be found by texting “VOTE” to 254-777-6000.
