1 hospitalized after home catches fire in northwest Dallas, officials say

 

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a house fire in northwest Dallas Monday. One person was hospitalized, officials said.

DALLAS — One person was hospitalized for mild smoke inhalation after a fire burned a home in northwest Dallas, officials said. 

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a fire around 5:53 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 in the 9400 block of Overlake Drive, according to a press release from the department. 

Firefighters on the scene reported heavy fires coming out of the home’s windows and efforts to fight the fire were made more challenging by combustibles in the home, officials said. 

The fire was extinguished at 6:36 p.m., the release states.
