Texas gas prices drop 10 cents in the past week, AAA says

 

Texas gas prices is 44 cents below the national average.

TEXAS, USA — The statewide gas price in Texas has dropped to $2.71, 10 cents lower than one week ago and 32 cents less per gallon compared to this day last year, according to AAA.

Texas’ gas price is 44 cents cheaper than the national average of $3.15, AAA said. 

Drivers in El Paso pay the most for gas in the Lone Star State ($3.04), while those in Lubbock are paying the least on average ($2.59).

The average in Dallas, according to AAA, is $2.66. The average in Fort Worth-Arlington (this is how AAA breaks up the area) is also $2.66. For the cheapest prices in the DFW area, click here.

“Fuel prices could decline even further as supplies remain healthy and demand is settling into typical autumn patterns,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson.
