Student dies after stabbing at Manor Senior High School

   

AUSTIN, Texas — Police are investigating a stabbing at Manor Senior High School that left a student dead, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

A spokesperson for the Manor Independent School said a student was stabbed on campus property by another student during an altercation. The suspect in the stabbing is in police custody.

ATCEMS said it received the call for a reported stabbing at the school at 12:47 p.m. When they arrived, medics tried life-saving measures on the student, but they were unsuccessful. The student was pronounced dead at the scene.

Manor ISD sent a letter to parents regarding the incident, saying the school is closing early. Students can be picked up starting now in front of the school, and buses will begin transporting students who normally ride home shortly.

School is also canceled for tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 30, for Manor Senior High School and Manor Early College High School.

For today’s dismissal, parents and guardians who cannot pick up their students will be kept safely on campus.
