Greenwood’s iconic song is practically on par with the Star-Spangled Banner for some patriots, hitting home in a way that very few songs can, providing chills to anybody with a pulse every time it is played.

We all know the words. And we all sing along when we hear it. But did you ever think to yourself for a moment, “Hey, I wonder what this would be like amped up on nitrous oxide?”

You’re in luck. Take a listen below …

I’m not sure about you, but I’m about ready to run straight through a wall after hearing that. Almost couldn’t hear the song after I started chewing a bowl of rusty nails.

That thing sounds … Epic.

A press release announcing the song indicates the Rock version of “God Bless the U.S.A.” is meant to ensure “the anthem remains as important to today’s youngest generation of Country music fans as it has for the many generations of the past.”

Love the updated version. But why now? In this tense political environment?

Greenwood echoed a desire to reach younger listeners, telling RedState, “Putting politics aside – the new version of ‘God Bless The U.S.A.’ reaches out to a new audience that lives in the rhythm of t he day.”

“It’s just time,” he explained.

We asked Jacobs the same question, and he said that the new version “brings an entirely new feel to the song itself.”

“When you hear it, it screams America,” he said. “It stands for everything America was built on: Strength, bravery, hard work, and sacrifice.”

“We, as Americans, need that reminder every single day, and that’s what this new version will help bring – a reminder of what makes this country great.”

Amen, brother.

In an iconic moment this past Sunday, Greenwood performed “God Bless the U.S.A.” live at the rally for former President Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden. He belted the hit out for a capacity crowd of nearly 20,000 fans as Trump walked out for his speech.

Making it even more special – it just happened to be Greenwood’s 82nd birthday.

Jacobs is an American country and rock musician known for his powerful voice and transformation of country hits into rock versions.

He achieved significant success independently with his debut album, “Got Me Like Whoa, hitting No. 1 on the iTunes Country chart. Jacobs has released Rock versions of “The Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks, “God’s Country” by Blake Shelton, and “Whiskey Lullaby” by Brad Paisley & Alison Krauss, along with several others.

But this is the first song that, as he says, “screams America.”

Greenwood, meanwhile, is not only known for this hit but also for a deep body of work that yielded a Grammy Award and seven No. 1 singles across a career that has spanned more than six decades.

He’s also known for his patriotism and support of the U.S. military. Greenwood has been honored with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s National Patriot’s Award and entertained troops on more than 30 USO Tours.

He is the embodiment of the very song he made famous. And he seems pretty excited about the new collaboration.

“This is a big year for ‘God Bless The U.S.A.’ I have not recorded the song with many people, ever, as I felt like it would be passing the baton to someone else to sing my signature song,” says Greenwood.

“However, this rock version is not something that I would have done on my own.  So, I am excited to have fans and fellow patriots hear it, share it, and add it to their playlists.”

The song will be released on November 1st. You can pre-save it on your favorite music apps here: [PRE-SAVE LINK ]
