SAN ANTONIO FORECAST: Here’s what you need to know about storms and a cool front tonight

  

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS
  • MIDDAY THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON: Clearing, warm, and humid
  • 6 PM TO MIDNIGHT: Storms will develop along a cool front, with rain chances peaking around midnight. A few of the storms could produce gusty winds, and there’s a low chance for up to quarter sized hail.
  • TUESDAY: Clearing by mid-morning. Pleasant and in the 70s
FORECAST

After the spotty rain this morning, the rest of the day will be warm and humid.

A cool front will move through South Texas tonight. Storms will develop out ahead and along the front, peaking around midnight. It’s during this time that some storms could be strong to severe, although, widespread severe weather is not expected. Gusty winds and up to quarter sized hail would be the main threats. As with any storms, there’s a risk for localized power outages and pockets of heavy rain.

Around San Antonio, most locations should see about a quarter to half an inch of rain, but the luckiest neighborhoods could see 1 to 2 inches. Not much rain expected in the Hill Country.

Sprinkles will continue into early Tuesday morning, while winds will briefly become gusty out of the northwest. Skies clear by mid-morning and it’ll turn into a sunny, beautiful day. High temperatures on Election Day are only expected to reach the mid-70s!

By Wednesday morning, temperatures will dip all the way into the low-50s around San Antonio. The Hill Country is forecast to see widespread lows in the 40s. Wednesday brings more beautiful weather. However, changes arrive by Thursday morning, with more rain in the forecast and another cold front by Friday, setting up a nice weekend.
