DALLAS — One of three controversial Dallas city charter amendments on the ballot after the Dallas HERO group g athered the required signatures would tie the city manager’s pay to the results of a community survey.
Dallas HERO is the group behind Dallas charter amendment Propositions S, T and U. They’re one of four petition-driven propositions on the ballot in Dallas. The fourth. Proposition R, which calls for decriminalizing larger amounts of marijuana in Dallas, is not affiliated with Dallas HERO.
Specifically, Proposition T would require the city to conduct a city-commissioned community survey each year of a minimum of 1,400 Dallas residents that would result in either the city manager earning a performance-based pay raise or the city manager’s firing.
Early vote totals showed a majority of voters against Proposition T thus far.
