The Voice season 11 winner Jason ‘Sundance’ Head was shot on his ranch in Texas on Friday.
Trey Newman, Sundance Head’s agent, revealed to the New York Post that the country singer was in a “stable” condition, explaining that the gunshot was “to his naval areal.” Thankfully, the shot “missed all vital organs” and “was not self-inflicted.” Trey noted that it’s not clear where the shot came from.
“We don’t know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby,” he disclosed.
Trey further added: “The bullet is lodged in some fatty tissue, and the only way it could have have happened is if it travelled through something else.” Additionally, the rep for Sundance Head said the singer called 911, stating that he was “life-flighted” off of his ranch to a hospital.

“We thought he was going to go in for immediate surgery,” Trey expressed. “It sounds like they’re gonna leave it in there,” he said, referring to the bullet. Trey mentioned, “His wife is on the way to the hospital now to get a little more information from the doctors. We’re not sure if he is awake.”
Sundance Head’s wife Misty Head has been asking for prayers for her wounded husband online following him being hit.
“Prayer Warriors we need y’all. This is Misty — I don’t have a lot of information but please keep Sundance in your prayers. Sundance has been life flighted with a gunshot wound to his stomach per the paramedics who called me,” Misty wrote on Facebook on Friday. “They told me once they land he’s going in for immediate surgery. They did get him stable for the flight (per the paramedic) We are on our way to Tyler now. Again this is the only information I have at the time. Please just keep him in your prayers.”
She added: “Doctor just called me, bullet went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall missing all vital organs. He will not require surgery as they are not removing the bullet. I’m sure she said why, but my head is in a fog right now. Him being on the bigger side was a good thing. Bullet is in his fatty tissue. Thanks for all the prayers.”
On X, formerly Twitter, have voiced their concerns for the entertainer.
“Sundance Head has been shot! We need to pray,” one X user wrote. A second added, “Country Singer Sundance Head Shot in Texas,” including a broken heart emoji and sad face emoji.
