CNN Legal Analyst Torpedoes Dem Arguments Against Pam Bondi

Folks on the left freaked out at President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of former Rep. Matt Gaetz for Attorney General.

But they barely had time to catch their breath after his withdrawal before they were on to their next freakout over Trump’s nomination of former Florida AG Pam Bondi for the position. MSNBC contributor and professor Jason Johnson said, “We should all fear” her because she was “competent.”

“She is a dangerous and effective pick,” he said.

CNN’s senior legal analyst, Elie Honig, also weighed in. He isn’t shy about going against the Democratic narrative and saying things the left might not like, such as calling out some of Special Counsel Jack Smith or Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s actions against President-elect Donald Trump.

Honig gave an honest assessment of just how qualified Bondi was. As our sister site Townhall observed, that’s likely to tick off the left since it won’t help their efforts to stop her nomination; it’s going to be tougher to attack her with such qualifications.

Pam Bondi is, without a question, qualified to be Attorney General. She’s been a prosecutor for 20 years in Florida. For eight of those, she was the attorney general of the state. That’s a very big, very complicated job‚ and that level of experience is on par with, or better than most United States Attorneys General that we’ve seen over the past 50 years or so.

It’s hard to argue she isn’t qualified after that. Not only is she qualified, she has sterling qualifications.

Is she going to be the reformer, the person needed to clean up the DOJ that most people want? Is she going to stop the weaponization of the DOJ?

Many weighing in believe so, lest anyone worry that Trump lost his “attack dog” for the position.

Here’s a sample:

Democrats were mad about Gaetz and wanted him out, but now that he’s gone, they just may have stepped from the frying pan into the fire.
