2024 Friendsgiving Challenge: Over $174,000 raised for Central Texas Food Bank

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 2024 Friendsgiving Challenge benefitting the Central Texas Food Bank is over, and the winners have been crowned!

This year, we switched it up. Meteorologists Nick Bannin and Kristen Currie were joined by the KXAN Evening and Morning Teams to see which group could raise the most funds for the food bank. The competition lasted from Nov. 1 through Nov. 27.

The Morning Team brought in more than $91,000 — outraising the Evening Team by nearly $10,000. The two teams together raised more than $174,000 for the Central Texas Food Bank — exceeding the $150,000 goal.

We are so thankful for our generous viewers who made this possible and came together to support the Central Texas Food Bank. The real winner is our Central Texas community!

Central Texas Food Bank said last year, it brought nearly 54 million meals to the community and put them into the hands of families and local nonprofits.
