Lake Worth police chase ends in downtown Fort Worth crash

 

According to Lake Worth PD, two men were arrested for possessing a large amount of narcotics following a police chase that ended in a crash in Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Police arrested two men who led them on a chase from Lake Worth which ended in a crash in downtown Fort Worth, according to the Lake Worth Police Department.

Lake Worth PD released a statement, claiming they tried to arrest two 31-year-old men, Eloy Eleazar Jr. and Jorge Martinez, for drug trafficking in the 5900 block of Lake Worth Blvd. According to Lake Worth PD, the men drove off, crashing through a chainlink fence to avoid police.

Lake Worth police continued to chase the men until they crashed near Commerce St. and E. 2nd St. in downtown Fort Worth, the department said. According to police, the men crashed into another car. That person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.

Police said they recovered a gun and a large amount of narcotics. 

Both Eleazar and Martinez were arrested and multiple felony charges are expected, per the department.
