Young kids from Dallas Cowboys Demarvion Overshown’s hometown give him love, support after his injury

 

Overshown spoke via Zoom with kids and faculty at Arp ISD, where he grew up.

ARP, Texas — Dallas Cowboys star linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is beloved in Arp, the East Texas town where he grew up.

After Overshown suffered a devastating season-ending knee injury, the community rallied to support him, as many Arp ISD students and faculty donned blue and white Cowboys jerseys. Overshown spoke to them via Zoom on Friday. 

“I love you,” a young student said followed by an awe from the crowd. “We are gonna pray for you.” 

“I love you too,” Overshown replied.

One young boy, who was wearing Overshown’s jersey, told him that he was his favorite player.

The city also declared Dec. 13 DeMarvion Overshown Day, according to WFAA sister station KYTX.
