Man, 70, struck in hit-and-run on West Side, SAPD says

  

SAN ANTONIO – A 70-year-old man was hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were called around 8:30 p.m. to the intersection of S Zarzamora Street and W. Cesar Chavez Boulevard on the city’s West Side.

According to police, the man was walking in a crosswalk when an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on S Zarzamora Street struck him.

Police said the driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

The man was taken to the hospital and, at last check, was in stable condition, police said.

Authorities said the driver will be charged with collision involving injury when found.

A description of the vehicle was not provided.
