Ferreira had played all eight seasons of his professional soccer career for FC Dallas.
FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas is reportedly sending forward Jesus Ferreira to the Seattle Sounders, according to MLS Insider Tom Bogert.
According to Bogert, the Sounders reached an agreement with FC Dallas and Ferreira to bring the young USMNT star to the Pacific Northwest.
Ferreira had played all eight seasons of his professional soccer career for FC Dallas after being promoted from its youth academy. Ferreira moved to North Texas when his father, David Ferreira, was loaned to and later re-signed with FC Dallas.
In his eight seasons playing for the FC Dallas senior team, Ferreira scored 53 goals, which is second all-time in club history behind Kason Kreis (97). Rumors about a potential deal first came to light earlier this month when Sounder at Heart reported negotiations were in advanced stages.
Bogert reported that FC Dallas will receive $2 million in General Allocation Money (GAM), an international roster spot and winger Leo Chu in return. The deal is reportedly agreed to in principle, but pending final approval and paperwork to be finalized.
Ferreira has also scored 15 goals in 23 appearances for the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT). He was a member of the 2022 USMNT World Cup team.
Ferreira and his girlfriend recently announced on social media they are expecting a child together in 2025.
