Celestial Beerworks describes the beer as an “American IPA loaded with Citra and Mosaic.”
DALLAS — The turn-of-the-millennium nu metal favorites in Limp Bizkit now have their own beer thanks to a pair of North Texas breweries.
Last week, the Dallas brewery Celestial Beerworks announced that it had teamed up with its counterparts from the always innovative Fort Worth-based Martin House Brewing Company to launch a new offering called “Fred Thirst,” named after the band’s lead singer Fred Durst.
The breweries describe the brew as “a crisp, clean, juicy American IPA loaded with Citra and Mosaic.” It arrives as part of a lineup of new beers brewed by Celestial that bear punny names in honor of other early 2000s nu metal legends — including such creations as “Kid Rauch” and “Papa Roast.”
The beer isn’t Martin House’s first dalliance with seemingly Limp Bizkit-related offerings, either. In 2022, the brewery released a limited offering called Awesome Sauce: Bun Length Hot Dog Water Seltzer — a nod, no doubt, to Limp Bizkit’s 2000 LP “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water” — to coincide with the hot dog-centric Glizzy Fest that Martin House hosted that year.
As for this newest creation, here’s how Celestial Beerworks desrcibed the IPA on Instagram: “We get flavors of sticky pine resin, orange rind, tropinana juice and lemon hard candy. It’s an easy drinker and keeps you coming back for more with every sip, but at 7%, keep an eye on how many cans you crush.”
Doesn’t sound like your cup of tea? Well, try not to break anything, just keep rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ along and have faith that there’s another local beer to your suiting available elsewhere in North Texas.
On the other hand, if you’re intrigued by what Celestial and Martin House are putting down, the beer is available for purchase and sampling at Celestial’s taproom, located at 2530 Butler Street in Dallas, or on the brewery’s website.
