Renowned North Texas wine bar closing

The wine bar was named a Top 50 American Restaurant by Wine Enthusiast magazine.

DALLAS — An award-winning North Texas wine bar is closing this month after about five years.

Trova Wine and Market opened in Preston Center in 2020 and featured a collection of more than 200 wines by the bottle and 22 wines by the glass and a food menu including small plates, sandwiches, cheeses and charcuterie.

Owner Michelle Bonds said Trov a’s last day of service will be January 18.

“Since opening in 2020, we’ve loved seeing Trova grow into a happy place for wine lovers to sit and relax, find a sense of community, and discover new and exciting bottles and delicious dishes in our space,” a post on Trova’s Facebook page reads. “We are incredibly grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us over the years and are sad to announce that our final day of service will be Saturday, January 18. It is no secret that small business ownership is tough and while this was a nearly impossible decision, I know it is for the best.”

Trova was named a Top 50 American Restaurant by Wine Enthusiast magazine in 2023. It was the only North Texas restaurant to make the list.

The magazine at the time wrote “Trova takes meat and cheese boards to another level, with over a dozen charcuterie picks and almost 20 cheeses, along with creative small plates like ‘peaches + cream,’ roasted local peaches with labneh, prosciutto and fennel pollen. The choose-your-own adventure theme continues with around 20 glass pours.”

“We would love to see your smiling faces and express our gratitude as we wrap up this incredible journey at 4004 Villanova. Come eat, drink, and be merry in the new year,” Trova’s post continued.
