SAN ANTONIO – (UPDATE on 1/13/2025): The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a woman who police said was hit and killed by a vehicle over the weekend.
Jade Luna, 22, died from blunt force injuries, according to the ME’s office. Her death was ruled an accident.
Police said Luna was struck by a vehicle along Northwest Loop 410 after she was dropped off along the highway.
The driver who hit Luna remained on the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigation.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed.
ORIGINAL STORY: San Antonio police said a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the scene around 12:30 a.m. along Northwest Loop 410 near Culebra Road.
According to an SAPD sergeant, a couple was arguing in a vehicle. After an unknown amount of time, the driver of the vehicle pulled over and dropped the woman off on the highway, police said.
An unrelated vehicle traveling eastbound hit the woman after authorities said she was walking on the main lanes of Loop 410. First responders said they pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The driver of the unrelated vehicle remained at the crash scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Investigators said that no criminal charges are expected to be filed against the driver who hit the woman.
