Finnair and American Airlines are partnering to fly passengers from Northern Europe to Mexico with a stop at DFW International Airport, the airlines announced.
DALLAS — DFW International Airport will connect Northern Europe to Mexico through a new partnership with Finnair and American Airlines.
Finnair and the Fort Worth-based American Airlines announced a codeshare agreement that will allow passengers smoother travel from Northern Europe to 12 Mexican destinations, Finnair announced in a press release.
“We are happy to offer Finnair customers smoother access to popular destinations in Mexico,” said Anmol Bhargava, American Airlines’ Vice President of Partnerships. “The expansion will give customers more convenient connections on American’s expansive network from Mexico to Finland and beyond.”
The agreement includes American Airlines flights from its Dallas-Fort Worth hub to Guanajuato, Monterrey, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Cancún, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Mérida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Querétaro and San José del Cabo airports, according to the release.
The agreement allows passengers to travel from countries served by Finnair to Mexico more smoothly. A codeshare agreement allows two or more airlines to publish and market the same flight under their own airline and flight number. Finnair customers can travel their entire route with a Finnair flight number and collect rewards for the entire trip under the partnership.
The flights will begin Jan. 12, 2025, according to the release.
“The cooperation opens up a comprehensive choice of destinations for our customers to Mexico, which is a popular travel destination from Finland and elsewhere in Northern Europe, especially during the winter,” Fredrik Wildtgrube, Finnair’s SVP Alliances and Airline Partnerships. “Besides Mexico, American Airlines offers our customers excellent connections via Dallas also to elsewhere in the United States and America.”
