Amanda was first featured as WFAA’s Wednesday’s Child three-plus years ago and is still looking for her forever family.
DALLAS — Amanda, 15, is still looking for loving and patient parents to adopt her.
She was first featured as WFAA’s Wednesday’s Child three and a half years ago when she was 11. She told us then how much she wants to find her forever family.
Amanda has always loved animals, which is why we made sure to surround her with them at her Wednesday’s Child taping.
During her visit to the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park in Dallas, Amanda enjoyed the fish, stingrays, and sharks.
It was fitting. When Amanda was featured as WFAA’s Wednesday’s Child in 2021, she was feeding goats and riding horses at the Fort Worth Stockyards.
“I was with my sister, and we were having so much fun,” she said of the memory.
Now, Amanda says she hopes to become a veterinarian someday.
“They love you no matter what, versus people. They’ll stop loving you just for like the simple things,” Amanda said.
While her sister was adopted, Amanda has yet to find the forever family she’s been looking for.
“They’ll make me feel so special. Like, I haven’t felt special in a while,” Amanda said. “I want to feel like I’m not being judged for every little thing I do. Every move I make, everything I say, the way I look, the way I dress,” she.
Amanda says she loves to read, color, and paint, and she wants to share her love and talents with a family.
She says she’d thought she’d have found loving parents by now.
“I don’t remember much of my childhood,” Amanda told us in 2021. “I got tooken [taken] away from my parents at a young age, I was probably around 5.”
Amanda says she wants a patient mom and dad who enjoy animals and will help her to not just see the beauty within but the beauty all around her.
“I want to see the world. I’ve never been anywhere but Arkansas,” she said.
