11-year-old boy killed in house fire in south Bexar County, officials say

  

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – An 11-year-old boy was killed in a house fire in far south Bexar County on Monday, according to county officials.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 20915 Spanish Grant Road around 6:30 p.m.

Isaac Neri, a Bexar County Fire Marshal spokesperson, confirmed the boy’s death to KSAT on Tuesday afternoon.

The house was deemed a total loss, and Red Cross is helping the affected family, Neri said.

The spokesperson said the fire is believed to have started in the mobile home’s bathroom. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The boy’s school announced his passing in a statement obtained by KSAT on Wednesday.
