Major highway to close in Arlington overnight Friday

 

Parts of Interstate 20 will close overnight Friday for roadwork.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Drivers on I-20 are being asked to seek alternate routes on eastbound I-20 on Friday night, as the road will be closed at the U.S. 287 interchange for construction.

The closure will last from 11 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, weather permitting, according to South-Point Constructors, who are in charge of the Southeast Connector Project at I-20 and Loop 820. All traffic will be detoured to the U-turn at Sublett Road.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the Southeast Connector corridor.
