Fire at Dallas apartment complex prompts 40 firefighters to respond

Several firefighters worked to quickly contain a two-alarm fire at Arborstone Apartments.

DALLAS — About 40-45 firefighters responded to a fire at a three-story apartment building on Thursday afternoon, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.

DFR said firefighters were dispatched to the Arborstone Apartments in the 6500 block of S. Cockrell Hill Road at 12:52 p.m. after a resident came to the leasing office saying their apartment was on fire.

When firefighters arrived they learned residents had already self-evacuated and went on the offensive, DFR said. According to DFR, the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm, prompting 40-45 firefighters to respond, and shortly after, the fire was declared out at 1:32 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and DFR said there is not currently any information as to how many apartments were impacted or how many residents were displaced.

DFR also provided no information as to what led up to the fire.
