An Irving-based company is helping college and professional sports teams gear up for success, one custom locker at a time.
IRVING, Texas — The road to the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship ends in Atlanta, but part of the journey began in an Irving warehouse for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
There, Hollman, Inc. designed and shipped custom lockers to Columbus to meet the team’s needs on and off the field. And if the Buckeyes win the big game next week — it will add to an impressive title streak where Hollman has seen clients turn into champions.
“We’re just making square boxes, right?” Travis Hollman said about the special lockers. “But they’re so much more than that. They’re very personal, and you have to make sure that these things work for the team and the player.”
Hollman’s locker legacy
Hollman, Inc., has been manufacturing lockers since 1984, eight years after Hollman’s father founded it. Now, he is the CEO, and the company has become a major player in creating innovative lockers for professional and collegi ate sports teams across the United States.
“We look at it this way: this is the only spot in somebody else’s business that’s yours,” said Hollman, emphasizing the importance of personalized locker spaces. “We’re just trying to make a space where they can get in, relax, but also perform at their highest levels.”
Hollman’s work includes cutting-edge features like zero-gravity chairs and pull-down storage for helmets. It also includes custom logos, televisions, charging stations, and dryers for helmets and shoes! Hollman laughed that players often fall asleep in their lockers and are there for that reason — not just for storage. Successful teams bond in a locker room; chemistry and passion can only suit up when players feel comfortable.
Clients turned champions
Over the years, Hollman, Inc. has earned a reputation for working with championship-caliber teams. The company’s custom lockers were installed for Alabama before their 2020 national title win and for the Texas Rangers before their recent World Series victory. Notably, the Chicago Cubs also received lockers from Hollman ahead of their historic World Series triumph.
“Maybe there’s a secret sauce. It seems to be working out pretty well,” Hollman quipped.
Hollman said the lockers he created for the Texas Rangers were the best he’s ever done, and the team was very involved in the features. He has also worked on lockers for the Texans, Chargers, Mavericks, Spurs, and Cowboys.
“There are many ways to do lockers, and you can make something incredibly powerful for the people,” he said. The newly installed lockers represent more than storage for Ohio State — they are part of the team’s winning formula, per Hollman.
Ironically, while Ohio State received their lockers ahead of the current season, their opponent in a few days, Notre Dame –another Hollman client — will have to wait until the offseason for theirs.
Beyond lockers
Travis Hollman’s impact extends beyond sports. He and his wife, Stephanie, are known for appearing on the reality TV series The Real Housewives of Dallas. While their personal lives may play out on screen, Hollman’s professional focus remains on crafting premium locker solutions that make a difference in team performance.
As the Buckeyes prepare for their shot at the national title, one thing is clear in Hollman’s warehouse: the path to greatness can start in a locker room where design meets ambition.
