E2open, a longtime Austin technology company, quietly relocated its headquarters to North Texas last fall.

The company, which makes supply chain management software and has a market capitalization of nearly $800 million on the New York Stock Exchange, disclosed in an October securities filing that it moved its head office to Addison, north of Dallas, effective Sept. 16, 2024. Since then, it has been referring to the Dallas area as its home base, although the company did not respond to requests for comment.

The company has an office at Greenhill Towers, located off Midway Road a few blocks west of the Dallas North Tollway.

While the move hasn’t been reported elsewhere, E2open (NYSE: ETWO) has had a presence in Addison since 2004 and moved into its 11,600-square-foot office at 14135 Midway Road in 2020. According to Dallas Central Appraisal District records, the company’s business personal property value at the location grew from $95,430 in 2023 to $243,020 last year, indicating significant upgrades have been made to the space.

It’s unclear how many employees the company has in Addison and whether it plans to grow there with the new HQ designation. The company had a total headcount of 3,916 full-time employees as of February 2024, although the majority were in the Asia-Pacific region.

On an Oct. 9 earnings call, E2open Chief Financial Officer Marje Armstrong said the company was conducting a facilities cost reduction plan to “rationalize the office footprint inherited from past M&A and adjust to post-Covid flexible work policies and the resulting lower office utilization.”

Founded in 2000, E2open provides supply chain software for companies moving and selling goods and services. The organization connects more than 480,000 manufacturers, logistics and distribution companies to a network tracking more than 16 billion transactions a year. It moved its headquarters to Austin in 2015 and went public in 2021 in a merger with a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC.

The company reported revenue of $151.7 million for its fiscal third quarter that ended Nov. 30. For its last fiscal year, which ended in April 2024, revenue was $634.6 million while its net loss was nearly $1.2 billion and gross profit was $317.7 million.

Shares of E2open Parent Holdings Inc. were trading for about $2.57 Jan. 16 on the New York Stock Exchange, down from a 52-week high of $5.08.

Still, the HQ move adds another name to the long list of public companies based in the Metroplex. It also ranks among the few HQ relocations to the Dallas area in recent months, after such deals slowed in 2023 and 2024.

In Addison, another software company recently revealed plans to expand its headquarters: Topaz Labs LLC is moving into a new 28,200-square-foot space at the Village on the Parkway in May. The company aims to add about 130 jobs and invest at least $2.5 million into the office.
