FORT WORTH, Texas — The Greater Fort Worth MLK Parade scheduled for Monday has been postponed until next month due to freezing cold weather expected in North Texas.
The bitter cold will begin this weekend, especially on Sunday, when temperatures are expected to plunge into the 20s and wind chills could make it feel like single digits. The cold weather will warm just slightly later in the day Sunday but remain around freezing into early next week. There’s also a chance of winter precipitation on Monday evening.
As a result, outdoor events across North Texas could be impacted by the cold weather. The Fort Worth MLK parade, which is held in downtown Fort Worth each year, will now be scheduled for Feb. 17 at 10 a.m.
There’s another MLK parade in Fort Worth still on the schedule. The 7th annual MLK Fort Worth Community Parade will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at 4300 Ramey Avenue in Fort Worth.
We’ll be tracking a list of winter weather event cancellations below, when and if they happen.
