SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said a woman was arrested after allegedly punching an officer in the face who tried to stop a fight at a West Side restaurant.
The incident happened just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the International House of Pancakes location near the Southwest Loop 410 and State Highway 151 interchange.
Authorities said an SAPD officer was dispatched to the scene where they saw three women fighting on the ground inside the restaurant.
The officer, who SAPD described as “he” in its preliminary report, attempted to separate the fighting women.
One of the women, a 27-year-old, punched the male officer in the face multiple times with a closed fist, police said.
The report stated that the officer turned his attention to the woman accused of punching him and began struggling with her.
SAPD said more officers arrived at the restaurant soon after, helped end the fight and took the 27-year-old woman into custody.
According to the report, the male SAPD officer and the women did not suffer any major injuries.
The 27-year-old woman, who has yet to be identified, was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center for assaulting a police officer, the report stated.
