DALLAS — An apartment fire in Dallas has left six people displaced, officials confirmed.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, firefighters got the call about a fire at an apartment complex at 12111 Audelia Road on Monday at 4:25 p.m. The department said crews immediately requested a second alarm response when they arrived after seeing heavy smoke and fire coming from the first floor.

DFR said around 40 firefighters responded to the scene, working for an hour to put the fire out. The fire was extinguished at 5:26 p.m., the department confirmed.

As a result of the fire, four units were deemed uninhabitable, officials said. Six people — four adults and two children —  were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross is working to assist those families, DFR said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
