If found guilty, Lubitz will face anywhere from five to 99 years, or life, in prison.

BACKGROUND

The two neighbors had an ongoing feud that started months before the deadly shooting.

Authorities said Lubitz called police on Beeman for allegedly beating his girlfriend and later for assaulting him.

According to testimony, on that Christmas morning Beeman was going to walk his dog with his father when Lubitz started yelling at them. Beeman went to confront Lubitz at his door when he was shot seven times.

According to the defense, Lubitz opened fire in self-defense as they say Beeman walked into Lubitz’s apartment and threatened to slap him again.

During more than four days of testimony, the state called up just over 20 witnesses and claimed that Lubitz planned to kill Beeman for previously assaulting him and was seen the night before on a security camera walking his rifle into his apartment.
