The top five Grand Prize winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C., but the prizes don’t stop there.
DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks are calling on North Texas students to participate in their annual Black History Month Art Contest.
Students in grades 8 – 12 are encouraged to submit artwork that represents Black history and the growth of representation of Black culture in the arts through different eras of time.
The deadline is Feb. 9.
The Mavericks selection committee will pick the winners based on the level of relation to theme, originality and creativity, and educational value.
The selected top five Grand Prize winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C., to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture and other historical sites throughout the city.
But it doesn’t end there. The winners will also be invited to a suite experience and be recognized on-court during the Feb. 27 Mavericks home game against the Charlotte Hornets.
Their artwork will be displayed in the African American Museum of Dallas through April.
