SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot three times following what San Antonio police described as a potential road rage incident.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. in the 6700 block of Spring Hurst Drive on Tuesday.
Police said two men were engaged in a potential road rage incident before they pulled into Spring Hurst Drive.
The suspect, who remained at the scene, told police that the victim, who SAPD said is in his 30s, got out of his vehicle and retrieved a gun from his trunk.
In response, the suspect, a man who SAPD said is in his 40s, told police that he fired his weapon at the victim.
The victim was shot three times — twice in the chest and once in the thigh — and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, San Antonio police said.
SAPD said the suspect is cooperating with the police investigation. Authorities said they are not sure where the alleged road rage incident began.
Investigators said they have yet to determine if the suspect acted in self-defense or if he will face any charges.
