Hard freeze underway; 25° rebound by the afternoon

BRRR. It’s cold. A quick check of the morning numbers show that San Antonio International bottomed out around 25° earlier this morning. Still, other spots outside of the city center have dipped into the teens. While we may fall a bit farther, here are the low temperatures we’ve observed so far this morning:

BIG REBOUND

Temperatures will gain around 25° to 30°by the afternoon, under mostly sunny skies. Expect a high around 50° this afternoon.

TWO MORE MORNINGS WITH FREEZING TEMPS

Both Thursday and Friday mornings will see temperatures return to sub-freezing temperatures (upper-20s). It won’t be as cold as this morning and the below-freezing duration will be shorter. Both days, the afternoons will see highs in the 50s.

FOGGY WEEKEND, SPOTTY SHOWERS BY SUNDAY

As moisture increases this weekend, so too will cloud cover and temperatures. Saturday will go from mostly clear skies to overcast by the afternoon. Then, on Sunday morning, fog is forecast to develop. Rain chances arrive starting Sunday and continue into much of next week. An upper low will sit to our west, keeping small rain chances in place. Temperatures will be more seasonable, with highs in the 50s and 60s.
