PROSPER, Texas — A Prosper middle school closed early Wednesday due to a power outage.
Rogers Middle School also canceled all after-school activities due to the outage, which was reported around noon.
A long line of cars could be seen as parents picked up their children from the school.
School officials said the outage happened sometime Wednesday morning. CoServ, the power provider, told the district that their best estimate on restoring the power would be at the end of the school day, officials said.
Students were able to stay warm in the building until their parents arrived, officials said. If parents weren’t able to get their kids early, the school was going to take care of them until their normal mode of transportation home was available.
Officials didn’t say what caused the outage.
