Vacant business burns after accidental fire in Dallas, officials say

The fire occurred at 4222 W. Camp Wisdom Road, per Dallas Fire-Rescue.

DALLAS — A vacant Dallas business caught fire by accident on Saturday afternoon, and around 40 firefighters worked to put it out, Dallas Fire-Rescue confirmed.

According to DFR officials, the department responded to a call at 4222 W. Camp Wisdom Road around 12:30 p.m. DFR said responding crews reported heavy smoke and fire coming out of the one-story business.

Since the fire was in advanced stages near a strip with other businesses, the department called for a two-alarm response, DFR said, prompting around 40 firefighters to respond.

DFR said the fire is mostly under control, but there are hotspots buried beneath the rubble from the building’s roof.

Investigators determined the fire was set by accident, and the source was a warming fire that was set outside of the building, DFR said.
