The incident happened at Murphy Middle School, according to a news release from the Murphy Police Department on Tuesday. Police had responded to a tip that someone was in possession of a gun. When officers arrived, they found a Lego plastic gun in the student’s backpack, police said.
The student, a juvenile, was taken into custody, though it wasn’t yet clear what, if any, charges they’ll face.
