The nonprofit provides internships to teens who have been caught up in the justice system.
DALLAS — Café Momentum, a nonprofit providing job training to teens caught up in the justice system, is breaking ground on a new flagship location in Dallas, the nonprofit announced.
The nonprofit, which has four locations across the country, was launched in Dall as in 2015. The organization provides culinary training infused with life skills and mental health support to teens, according to a press release from Café Momentum.
Its flagship location, currently located in downtown Dallas, serves as a national training center for the organization and a national hub for conversations about justice reform, the release states.
The organization will break ground on its new location Jan. 30 in the Wilson Historic District, east of downtown Dallas at 3001 Greenwood Street. The land was donated by The Meadows Foundation to help the organization make a wider impact.
Supported by the Stand Together Foundation, Café Momentum hopes to inspire a new model for youth justice founded on a belief in people and treating everyone with dignity, the release states.
The new flagship is expected to open in the first quarter of 2026. The new location will serve up to 120 interns, 20% more than the flagship’s previous location, the release states.
“This groundbreaking represents Dallas’ unwavering commitment to justice-involved youth, highlighting what’s possible when a community believes in the power of second chances,” the release states.
Along with announcing the groundbreaking, the organization is also kicking off a $10 million capital campaign, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the organization.
