BARTONVILLE, Texas — Denton County officials are investigating the death of a utility worker in Bartonville.
Around 11:20 a.m. Thursday, Bartonville police officers were called to the intersection of McMakin Road and Broome Road for reports of an electrocution.
The victim was not immediately identified but police said the incident “resulted in a fatality and is currently under investigation.”
Denton County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 1, Flower Mound Fire Department, and Double Oak Police Department also responded to the scene. Bartonville is about 10 miles west of the City of Lewisville.
Bartonville police said the worker’s employer will conduct an internal investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
In May 2024, a 20-year-old man died while doing tree work after hitting a power line in Arlington. Police said he was using a chainsaw when he hit a power line, causing him to be electrocuted.
