Dallas fans can’t escape the fallout from the monumental trade — not even at the biggest night in music.
DALLAS — It’s a trade so monumental, it’s being used as the butt of a joke at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
Since the news dropped that Luka Doncic will be a Los Angeles Laker, Mavs fans have been in mourning. The five stages of grief have set in, and many Mavs fans are still in the first phase: denial.
But it’s really hard to deny something that seemingly the entire world is talking about. Maybe an MFFL turned on the Grammys to escape the fallout from the trade news but there is no escape.
Comedian Jim Gaffigan joked that during the commercial break, Grammys host Trevor Noah was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. The joke was met with laughs, but it never answered the question: What did the Mavs give up to get him?
Hopefully, a whole lot less than they gave up to get Anthony Davis!
