North Texas middle school student hit by vehicle, hospitalized in critical condition, officials say

 

The teen was taken to a hospital in critical condition after the crash Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A North Texas middle school student was hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday, officials said.

Officers were called to the intersection of McPherson Boulevard and Summer Creek Drive in south Fort Worth shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and found a teen had been hit by a vehicle, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

The teen was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.

According to police, the crash happened in the area of a roundabout near Summer Creek Middle School within the Crowley Independent School District

Crowley ISD confirmed in a statement to WFAA that a Summer Creek Middle School student was hurt in an off-campus incident on Feb. 4 after school was dismissed for the day.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the student and the entire family, and we are hoping for a full recovery,” Crowley ISD said in the statement.

No other details about what led up to the crash or the vehicle involved were immediately available.
