Motorcyclist killed in crash on West Side was speeding, lane-splitting, SAPD says

  

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist killed on the West Side was speeding and lane-splitting before the crash, according to witnesses and San Antonio police.

The incident happened around 2:08 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 90 near Hunt Lane.

A preliminary report from SAPD said the 21-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle before veering into the center grassy median and crashing into metal cables.

The man was thrown from the motorcycle and was tangled in the cables, according to the report.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified the man as of Thursday morning.

Part of Highway 90 was closed for several hours near the crash.
