Davis went out against the Rockets after 31 minutes on the court.
DALLAS — After going out of the game against the Rockets, the Dallas Mavericks have provided an update on the Anthony Davis injury.
What was orginally listed as a “lower body injury” has now been clarified as a left adductor strain. Adductors are the muscles on the inner thigh that connect to the femur. The Mavs have Davis listed as out against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, according to the injury report.
In his Mavs debut, Anthony Davis went down with a non-contact injury during the third quarter after 31 minutes. In the game, Davis put up 26 points,16 rebounds and three blocks.
Anthony Davis has a long history of injury. Prior to this season, Davis missed 232 of his 1,010 games played on an NBA roster.
That history of injury has been a primary pain point for Mavs fans in the Luka Doncic trade. Thankfully, strains are typically minor injuries, meaning Dallas fans could expect AD to be back on the court soon putting up another monster double-double.
