The special will on Feb. 16 air immediately following the NBA All-Star Game on TBS.
LOS ANGELES — Although it may not be known when Anthony Davis will take the basketball court next, the new Dallas Maverick will be on TV again next weekend.
There were questions as to whether the Los Angeles-centric special, “Foul Play with Anthony Davis,” would still make air given the former Laker’s trade to Dallas, but as of now the special is planned to go forward on Feb. 16 on TBS immediately following the NBA All-Star Game.
The show, which involves both Davis and the guys behind the popular TV prank show “Impractical Jokers,” features Davis taking on various stunts with fellow athletes and celebrities.
“As prank ringleader, Davis taps famous friends including World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodger Mookie Betts, WNBA Los Angeles Sparks’ star Cameron Brink and Brooklyn Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell, to join him in his hijinks,” Warner Bros. Discovery says in a press release.
Planned stunts reported to occur on the show include a fake fundraising charity event with Terrence Mann of the Los Angeles Clippers and a prank promotional shoot with Laker Jarred Vanderbilt.
“Most people don’t know, but I have a passion for pranks. Whether it’s pranking my teammates or friends and family, I love making people laugh and doing whatever it takes to bring some joy and fun to the situation,” Davis said in the release. “Thank you to Impractical Jokers, TBS and the whole team for helping bring my vison for this show to life.”
James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano, of Impractical Jokers, said they were blown away by Davis’ sense of humor and charisma when he appeared with them on their show.
“He can shoot hoops pretty good, we guess, but the man was born for messing with people and making people laugh,” they said in the release.
