FORT WORTH, Texas — One of the largest sushi restaurant chains in the U.S. just opened a new location in North Texas.
So get ready to be served via conveyer belt.
Kura Sushi, a kaiten-zushi or revolving sushi restaurant, opened at noon Monday in far north Fort Worth, according to its website. The location at 2700 N. Tarrant Parkway, just west of Interstate 35W, is Kura’s 12th in Texas and fifth in North Texas. Kura also has locations in Euless, Carrollton, Frisco and Plano, and it’s opening a new location in McKinney soon.
As a revolving sushi restaurant, Kura serves up more than 100 menu items on a conveyer belt, known as the “Express Belt.” The belt system delivers made-to-order items directly to guests and includes a “Mr. Fresh” food safety dome to preserve freshness.
Kura also deploys a handful of other technology developments in its restaurants, including robot-delivered drinks, an AI-driven system to help manage wait times and a QR-scan plate system that provides the company with “real-time consumption analytics.”
Kura’s U.S.-based business includes 70 locations across 20 states, the largest revolving sushi chain the country. Kura’s Japan-based parent company has more than 600 locations internationally.
